Park Faculty Scholar Profile: Dr. Bob Grossfeld
Bob Grossfeld is one of two faculty members appointed by the chancellor to serve as a Park Faculty Scholar for the Class of 2012. He works with Dr. Steve Barr, a professor in the Department of Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, to provide guidance for class enrichment activities and advise individual students on academic matters.

Grossfeld is a professor in the Department of Biology, a member of the Physiology Graduate Program and the W.M. Keck Center for Behavioral Biology, as well as an associate member of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill/NC State University Joint Program in Biomedical Engineering. He earned his bachelor’s degree in bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Ph.D. in neuroscience from the Stanford University School of Medicine.
A member of the NC State University faculty for over 30 years, Grossfeld’s research focuses on chemical communication in the nervous system and on adult human stem cells for regenerative medicine.
