Park Faculty Scholar Profile: Dr. Clifford Griffin
Clifford Griffin, a University of Rochester Ph.D. and a former National Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution on War, Revolution and Peace, is an associate professor of political science in the School of Public and International Affairs and a Park Faculty Scholar for the Class of 2011.
Griffin specializes in political, economic, cultural, and security relations in the Caribbean and Latin America. His most recent book is The Race for Fisheries and Hydrocarbons in the Caribbean Basin. Griffin is also the editor of the ARA Journal of Tourism Research and a contributing editor to the Handbook of Latin American Studies. Arthritic knees notwithstanding, Griffin makes time for his two passions: soccer and tennis.
“Participating in the Park Scholarships program as a mentor to a class of highly intelligent, talented, and able individuals passionate about making a change, as well as observing their progress and maturation over four years is a deeply enriching and rewarding experience,” says Griffin.
